Xiaomi sells 1 million Mi Band 4 devices in 8 days

Xiaomi introduced the Mi Band 4 earlier this month with a color display and better sports recognition. The smart wearable impressed the Chinese audience so much that over 1 million units in the first eight days of its availability. The rest of the world is yet to see the device that will launch on June 26 and will be sold as Mi Smart Band 4 in Europe.

Xiaomi reported that there were over 5,000 shipments per hour at one point, making it the fastest-shipping wearable by the company ever. It now comes with a bigger OLED with a mightier resolution, 2.5D curved glass on top and more functions, but Xiaomi promises it will keep its 15-20 days battery life that is the biggest selling point of the wearable.

The base price of the Mi Band 4 is CNY169 (€21), while the NFC variant for wireless payments is CNY229 (€30). The Mi Stores in Spain and Italy will offer it for €35, which is still a hot deal, considering the improved features from the Mi Band 3 that arrived at €29 12 months ago.

WhatsApp features: 5 features on the chat app you may have missed

WhatsApp has rolled out some important features for its Android user and chances are that you might have missed some of them.

WhatsApp has been introducing new features every other month in 2019 and sometimes it gets hard to keep track of it. The Facebook-owned company has expanded the features of it platform and it is now one top messaging apps in the world. The chat platform keeps adding multiple features for its Android and iOS users. In the last few months, WhatsApp has rolled out some important features for its Android user and chances are that you might have missed some of them. Here's a quick list to refresh your memory.

Save Profile picture: WhatsApp has removed the possibility of someone copying, saving and exporting the profile picture of other users. WhatsApp has removed the feature in the latest Android beta update. Earlier, WhatsApp allowed users to share the profile pictures of users. All you had to do was click on the profile picture and share the picture using the share button which appeared on the top right-hand corner. Meanwhile, the feature has not been removed from the WhatsApp groups. It is still available for groups, where you can save group icons.

Forwarding info & Frequently forwarded: WhatsApp has introduced two new features called "Forwarding Info" and "Frequently Forwarded". One adds an additional 'frequently forwarded' label, while the other lets users check the number of times their messages have been forwarded.

Group invitation: The new 'Group Invitation' feature has come as a big relief, especially for those who were annoyed by getting randomly added to the WhatsApp groups. The new privacy setting lets the users choose as to who can add them to the group chats. The WhatsApp users can enable the privacy setting by going to Account, Privacy and Group.

Consecutive voice messages: The new feature will allow the users of the Facebook-owned platform to listen to voice messages one after the other, automatically. Until now, the feature was available only on the iOS version of the WhatsApp. The new functionality allows users to continuously play voice messages. After the end of the first voice message, WhatsApp will notify the user with a sound. Immediately after the sound, it will play the next voice message. In between, the user doesn't have to take any action. WhatsApp will also play short audio at the end of the voice message if there are no other voice messages to play.

WhatsApp group call: WhatsApp introduced a new 'Group Call' button within the group chats. This will allow you to immediately make group calls by adding the participants all at once from a slide-out tray containing the contact cards of all members in a group. Just tap on the names of people you want to participate in your group voice or video call.

Xiaomi will unveil the Mi CC9 and Mi CC9e tomorrow

Xiaomi will unveil a new series of smartphones tomorrow in China, as per company co-founder Lei Jun.

Xiaomi teased a phone with impressive selfie camera, which leads us to believe that the Xiaomi Mi CC9 and Mi CC9e will be the stars of the show.

The Xiaomi Mi CC9 has a motorized flip up camera that looks just like the one on the Asus Zenfone 6 and is expected to pack similar hardware - a 48MP main camera, and in addition to the ultrawide there will likely be a telephoto unit as well.

The Xiaomi Mi CC9 will use a Snapdragon 730 and come with a pearl finish with pink accent so as to cater to the feminine crowd.

The Xiaomi Mi CC9e is expected to look just like the Mi 9 and be powered by a Snapdragon 712 and a 4,000mAh battery with 18W charging. Camera-wise it should offer a 32MP selfie snapper, a 48MP main camera combined with an ultrawide and telephoto.

PUBG Mobile hits 400 million downloads, new update brings 4v4 team deathmatch

Tencent Games is marking its latest milestone with PUBG Mobile hitting 400 million downloads and boasting 50 million active daily users. To celebrate the occasion, the game is getting a new update which will bring a new 4v4 battle mode, a new map, custom skins and more detailed settings options.


Update 0.13.0 also adds separate control settings for first and third person modes. There is an improved third-party cheat prevention system and a new latency indicator visible from the main screen. Visually, players will now be able to use the exclusive Godzilla: King of the Monsters theme in the lobby and limited themed events.

Other novelties include a new popularity ranking system with exclusive gifts for the top 100 players. There are new zombie skins in the Survive Till Dawn and Darkest Night modes as well as improved items management. The update is live on the App Store and Google Play.
